Documenting Disability
Click on the links below or to the left for documentation guidelines for the following categories of disability: Learning Disability, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)-Based Disability, Physical, Psychological Disability, Brain Injury-Related Cognitive Disability. Documentation guidelines for Communication Disorder have recently been added. See Appendix B for a description of the specific documentation guidelines for each category.
Any prospective student who has applied for admission to MSU or any currently enrolled MSU student may submit written documentation of disability to the DSS staff. The request for review of that documentation must come directly from the person who desires disability accommodations and services. In the case of LD, ADHD and Brain Injury-Related disability documentation, independent licensed professionals may also be asked to review the documentation submitted to determine if it confirms the presence of an ADA-type disability. See Appendix A for details of the Disability Documentation Review Process.
