Your gift to MSU College of Business will assist:
The Dean’s Fund for Excellence:
Your gift to this account provides funding to respond immediately to the greatest needs of the College. These gifts provide the Dean of the College of Business the flexibility to assist a wider array of initiatives including curriculum development, student clubs and projects, recruiting efforts, professional development, study abroad and equipping classrooms with up-to-date technology.
Professional Skills Training:
Because professional competencies are of paramount importance for success in business, the college is developing a unique and innovative undergraduate program – Professional Advantage to provide students with a competitive edge in the marketplace through intensive, experiential development of professional skills, including oral and written communication, critical thinking and decision-making, and social skills. This includes introducing an Executive Coaching Clinic where students will receive one-on-one coaching and training.
Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West:
Established in 2001, the Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West supports a minor in entrepreneurship and small business management and provides free consulting services to small and start-up organizations. Gifts to this program enhance the scope of entrepreneurial training and education including adding classes to meet the demand for the program. This initiative includes developing a more cohesive and prominent community and social outreach initiative that leverages the College of Business’ current strengths in entrepreneurship and leadership education. This includes training in not for profit finances and management and offering classes in sustainability.
Reid Hall Renovation:
Home to Montana State University College of Business and several other instructional units on campus since the completion of construction in the late 1950s, Reid Hall has served us well but no longer meets our needs. In summer 2010, the College was granted additional space in Reid Hall allowing the College to develop new learning labs and more functional classrooms, creating a new home for the Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West, and offering a professional setting to further enhance the Bracken Business Communication Clinic and provide space for the new executive coaching clinic. Gifts to the Reid Hall Renovation project help to meet these goals while promoting our mission to provide excellence in undergraduate business education and the Master of Professional Accountancy Program.
Your gift to the Scholarship Fund allows more students to increase their focus on school work and take part in important student organization activities by reducing the need for outside employment. Students who are able to pair their solid grasp of business knowledge with leadership and professional skills gained at MSU have a competitive edge in landing coveted jobs with regional companies.
