Impact on Students
Read stories about the value and significance of your contribution to our students.
Supporting students is the hallmark of Montana State University. Many talented students want to go to college, but not everyone can afford it. This is why scholarships are a crucial component of MSU's goal of providing every student an opportunity to learn, succeed, and achieve at levels they may have only imagined. Your support of scholarships is evidence of your commitment to MSU and to the future, allowing our students the opportunity to develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
By Investing in Scholarships:
You help keep MSU affordable for all students - annual undergraduate expenses at MSU are $18,080 for Montana residents. Undergraduates from other states will pay $30,200 in annual expenses.
You recruit and retain the best and the brightest students - scholarships for high-achieving students help MSU compete with other universities for the top undergraduate students and increase the quality of education, research, and outreach campus-wide.
Support student success - MSU students with scholarships are active participants in their education, committed to achieving beyond expectations.
*Montana Tax Payers - supporting scholarships may qualify you for the College Contribution Credit or the Montana Endowment Tax Credit.
Scholarship Quick Facts

Scholarships may be unrestricted and available to any university student or may be restricted by a variety of selection criteria.
Scholarship selection criteria includes academic curriculum, academic achievement, financial need, residency, student activities, and other requirements that do not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, religion, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, and unfavorable discharge from the military or status as a protected veteran.
Donors may request that recipients be selected by the scholarship committee of University Financial Aid, a college, department, or program or another committee created for this purpose.
