Donations/Gifts to WWAMI
The Montana State University WWAMI Medical Education Program has many opportunities for interested donors to help with gifts or donations. Alumni of our program and other friends of medical education have been very helpful in making contributions to our existing accounts that allow us to do many things we could not do otherwise. Others have created specific designated endowments that support, for example, medical student scholarships, student research, outside speakers, and medical history activities.
We have several existing funds to which graduates and others may contribute at any time, in any amount. To donate to these specific general funds, contact the WWAMI office directly (see below). The WWAMI Contribution Fund supports the program in diverse ways, including events such as our orientation, a "white coat" ceremony, other special programs and teaching materials, and student expenses related to independent study research projects. The WWAMI Scholarship Fund is designated specifically for direct financial support of Montana WWAMI medical students. Larger gifts can be used to give scholarships in the name of an individual or in memory of an individual. The WWAMI Teaching Equipment Fund is designated specifically for teaching equipment, computer hardware and software, and books. The WWAMI Program Memorial Endowment is a fund from which we use only part of income each year for guest lecturers and renovations which support our teaching activities. All of these WWAMI funds are managed by the Montana State University Foundation.
Individuals wishing to create specific funds with a designated or limited purpose can contact the WWAMI Program and we will work with you and the MSU Foundation to make this possible.
