The eXtreme Gravity Institute can host workshop and conferences in the Physics Department. These are arranged upon request. Given limited funding, workshops can only be organized if grant funding is provided.

Summer School

Summer School

The eXtreme Gravity Institute organizes summer schools for advanced graduate students and for young postdoctoral associates on advanced topics in extreme gravity. The summer schools are organized once every two years in varied locations in Montana and the lectures are given by internationally-recognized researchers.

Current Topics in Astrophysics (CTA)

Current Topics in Astrophysics (CTA)

In the format of a journal club, graduate students and postdoctoral scholars present recent papers that appeared in the ArXiv that same week. The papers are selected by the students, with some guidance by professors when required. All gravity students are encouraged to attend CTA.

Relativity and Astrophysics Seminar

Relativity and Astrophysics Seminar

Invited speakers, local members and visitors of the eXtreme Gravity Institute and of the Solar Physics group present their research in this venue. Such presentations provide a means for other members of the Physics Department to become aware of the research being done in gravity and solar physics. Moreover, these seminars also provide a means for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to polish their presentational skills.
