CEPAC MINUTES: 3-07-01
I). OLD BUSINESS-
Minutes accepted from Feb meeting. Roberta suggested that when the minutes are posted to the web, that the suggestion of turning off lights, computers, etc should be highlighted
- Governor Martz was unable to attend the education rally held in Helena. Many attended the meeting.
- Legislative update-
- HB 306 increases retirement benefits by 11%
- HB 13 was still in committee (this is the pay bill)-President Gamble has stated he is budgeting for a 4% increase each of the next two years
- Roberta asked about the legislative committee on campus-Donna felt nothing will happen on this until after Cathy Conover is back from this legislative session
- Many attended President Gamble’s speech to the university. He had positive comments and most of the faculty/staff seem to feel hopeful that there will be changes around MSU
II). STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
- TRAFFIC APPEALS: Parking is looking at an increase in parking fees for next year. Nothing has been settled as of the meeting just speculation.
No other committees had met prior to this meeting. Meeting in April should have updates from LRPC, SPBC, UFPUB, & the new UPBAC or PBA
III). NEW BUSINESS
- It was suggested that CEPAC move meetings around to different locations next year so perhaps more people could attend
- Donna will try to set up rooms before this year is done.
Very short meeting.
NEXT MEETING APRIL 11 IN THE BRADLEY CONFERENCE CENTER AT 9:00AM
