It is my
understanding that the following information was shared at one of the last CEPAC
meetings……once collective bargaining agreements are ratified and approved by the
BoR, PPS sends a memo to each Dean/Director/Dept Head with a summary of the new
changes in the contracts that their particular employees are covered by.
They are also provided with a list of all classified employees in their dept and
each employees union affiliation. The memo does state that the information
chould be shared with others in their dept as appropriate. In addition,
all CBAs are available on-line for any interested party to review, and PPS is
always available to answer contract-related questions.
In addition
as policies are developed or revised, there is quite an extensive review and
comment process. Several standing committees, including CEPAC are included
in the review process, as well as posting them electronically for a defined
comment period.
PPS does not
have a means to track supervisors of employees in specific unions to provide
this info to them as well. It is the Dean/Director/Dept Head’s
responsibility to disseminate pertinent information to other
supervisors/managers within the dept. If supervisors are feeling out of
the loop, they first need to bring this to their bosses attention, then if there
is still confusion, they should feel free to contact us.
