Classified
Employees Personnel Advisory Committee (CEPAC)
INFORMATIONAL
BULLETIN, June 2005
As you will know, if you are one of the many
staff members who kindly participated in our recent survey, CEPAC is conducting
a voluntary, far-reaching study of its performance and service provision. The results, along with our Annual Report, will
be published later in the summer. However,
a cursory glance at comments already received clearly indicates the staff’s interest
in such periodic reports – hence, the information we’re sending now. Full details of CEPAC’s
work are available at our web site: www.montana.edu/staffsenate.
The
purpose of CEPAC
is to facilitate communication and cooperation between the Administration,
Faculty Council (FC), Professional Council (PC), Personnel and Payroll Services
(PPS) and the classified staff of MSU; promote improvement of higher education
in the State of Montana; promote and provide for improved working conditions
and professional welfare of the staff; assist in the development of staff
training programs and policies; and carry out such other goals and activities
deemed to be consistent with the overall purpose of CEPAC and the
Administration of MSU. The philosophy of
Shared Governance that has been embraced by MSU has us working closely with FC,
PC, ASMSU and the Administrative leadership on campus, and beyond.
Our
constituents
comprise approximately 1100 staff in 131 titles from 5 categories of
employment, working locally and remotely; from all union/bargaining unit
affiliations, as well as non-union/bargaining unit covered positions; State and
auxiliary funded staff.
Though CEPAC has been in existence
since 1976, our activities have significantly increased over the last couple of
years. On
The
CEPAC voting membership is elected at large from each of the following

and members serve a three-year term. The non-voting
