The Lewis & Clark Troops to Teachers regional office, housed in the Department of Education at MSU, is one of 30 regional offices nationwide that assists qualified military personnel in making the transition from the military ranks to service in public school classrooms by providing counseling and/or financial benefits in a six state region.  Since the Lewis and Clark office opened in 2002, 73 teachers have been placed in the region, 28 of those in Montana.  A related program, Spouses to Teachers, provides support to spouses of active duty military who are pursing K-12 teaching positions.
