Professional certification may be obtained after completion of the Academy. Submission of the Test Documentation Booklet, and a certification fee of $95 for each level is required for certification.

FSTS certification is accredited by both national and international accrediting bodies:
International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC)
and National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NPQS)

Academies are offered in the spring and fall.

Charles Carrico Regional Training Center, 1900 9th Street South, Great Falls, MT

The concentrated program the academies use enhances the training in context methods.

Spots in the academies fill quickly. In order to reserve a spot, the application and tuition must be completed and paid in full.

Cost:
Non-Refundable Registration Fee $30
Tuition (includes one meal per day) - $950-MT Public Fire Service Member
$1950-Private/Out-of-State
PPE rental- $100
Essentials Manual - $65 New 5th Edition Gold that includes Haz Mat Operations.

Schedule:
Generally 0800 to 2030, however several evenings may go until 2200.

Expect assignments each night in preparation for the next day’s training or testing.

Personal Protective Equipment:
Participants are expected to bring PPE, including leather gloves, helmet, hood, boots, bunker pants, coat, earplugs, and knee pads. Gear is available to rent at a cost of $100.
