Hays/Lodge Pole Schools depends on programs and grants from state, federal,
and private organizations for funds to offer alternative and innovative
opportunities to it's students. Below is a brief list of some of the programs
offered to the students of Hays/Lodge Pole Schools and the goals of each.
-
Goals 2000 The Goals 2000 program at Hays/Lodge Pole
is designed to foster the use of alternative educational methods to increase
the participation of our students in the fields of math, science, and technology.
This program is closely linked to our Vo-Ag program to offer not only challenging
coursework in the classroom, but the "real world" application of scientific
and mathematical concepts in the field.
-
Bilingual The Biligual progam at Hays/Lodge Pole Schools
is dedicated to providing our students with classes in the native teachings,
arts, crafts, and traditions of the Gros Ventre and Assiniboine tribes.
In addition to teaching, curriculum materials are developed to assist the
teachers and students in their learning. An example of this is linked below.
-
Montana Board of Crime Control The Montana State Board
of Crime Control awarded Hays/Lodge Pole Schools a grant to help school
age students work during the summer to improve on thier academic, physical,
and spiritual skills. The students will spend time on coursework, team
sports, and community repair and construction. This program is designed
to give students an alternative to drugs and other troubles that can plague
the youth of the reservation.
