Women's Health Symposium--Healthy living for mid-life and beyond

This free event features professors from MSU who will present information on key health issues facing women over 40.

5:30-6:00 PM Wine and heavy hors d'oeuvres (free)
6:00-6:30 PM Dr. Mary Miles, "Maintaining Metabolic Health: Challenges and Strategies for Women over 40"
Factors driving development of metabolic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease as well as evidence-based strategies to improve your metabolic health will be presented with an emphasis on starting where you are and doing what is most appropriate for you.
6:30-7:00 PM Dr. Teresa Wicks, "Be Good to Your Bones"
Many women have some degree of bone loss. Learn what risk factors you can't change and which you can. The good news is, what benefits your bones often benefits the rest of your body, too. Find out what you can do to make your bone health the best it can be.
7:00-7:30 PM Kristyn Birrell of Bikram Yoga will lead a yoga demonstration with audience participation. Please dress appropriately and bring a yoga mat if you have one.
