MSU Chorale & BHS Concert Choir
- Monday, March 3, 2014 from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
- Hope Lutheran Church
The MSU Chorale, BHS Concert Choir and MSU Youth Chorale will join forces to perform Leonard Bernstein's Chichester Psalms on Monday, March 3, at 7:30 at Hope Lutheran Church. The choirs will be joined by Ilse Mari Lee, organ; Stephen Versaevel, percussion; and Brianna Vlach, harp. Leonard Bernstein's daughter, Jamie, has called the piece "a resolution of conflicts" related to faith and fear. Commissioned to be performed at the Chichester Cathedral in Sussex, England, it remains one of Bernstein's most enduring works for chorus.
The Montanans will also sing two songs from Einojuhani Rautavaara's fiery Suite de Lorca. Set to poetry by García Lorca, the songs depict a dangerous scene as horsemen descend on the town of Córdoba in Southern Spain.
The Bozeman High School Concert Choir will perform a choral setting of Gabriel Fauré's beautiful Pavane and a spiritual by Jack Halloran.
The MSU Youth Chorale will sing J'entends Le Moulin arranged by Emily Crocker.
Tickets will be available online at the link below or at the door: $10 general admission $5 students
