Deadline to apply for Science Action Club STEM
- Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 12:00am to 11:59pm
Feb. 8 is the deadline for afterschool and out-of-school programs to apply for Science Action Club: BirdScouts. [NOTE: This was formerly called Birds In Your Schoolyard and is a repeat of training from February 2017]
This network-wide project from MSU Academic Technology & Outreach and the Montana Girls STEM Collaborative offers free STEM resources and training to educators who work with middle school students in after-school or out-of-school programs.
The program is open to sites that serve both boys and girls, and especially seeks participants from Montana's smallest towns.
Participating educators will receive a complete Science Action Club kit featuring high-quality science equipment and classroom supplies for 20 youth, plus digital resources to provide opportunities to extend learning.
Selected sites complete a training at MSU-Bozeman on Friday, March 2 as well as a two-hour online module.
Selected sites will conduct 12 hands-on activities this school year with 15 youth in middle school and assist with evaluation and feedback to the California Academy of Sciences
Visit the Science Action Club Website for more information and the link to the application.
The deadline is Feb. 8.
