Bring Back the Brooch Exhibit Closing Reception

Every culture throughout history has invented and popularized some form of brooch, whether in a decorative or functional context. The appearance of brooches is declining in contemporary western culture. An ornament that was once a staple to an evening out is disappearing.
Bring Back the Brooch is an attempt to redefine the broach contemporarily by showing off the gender neutrality of the adornment and the versatility of modern styles.
Montana State University (MSU) students, alumni, and community have submitted handmade brooches, pins, and lapels to the “Bring Back the Brooch” exhibition. The show is organized by the Smith’s Metals Guild, associated with MSU, in Bozeman, MT. The guild is exhibiting the show at the Dean’s Gallery on MSU campus. The Dean's Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 pm.
The show is an effort to raise awareness of the adornment of the brooch and revamp appreciation for its lost charm.
There will be a closing reception on Friday, March 2nd from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Dean's Gallery (217 Cheever Hall) which is located on the 2nd floor of Cheever Hall.
