See What I Mean: Visual Thinking in Teaching and Learning
Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Wilson 1122 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Lunch will be provided
Facilitated by Derek Bruff, Ph.D.
Director, Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching
Learning can be enhanced when content is presented and students are able to express what they know through different modalities, including visual representations of knowledge and understanding. A well-designed visual image can yield a much more powerful and memorable learning experience than a mere verbal or textual description. This is especially applicable to online courses that tend to be text heavy. Dr. Bruff will be at MSU to present on ways to incorporate visual teaching and learning techniques.
Additional Opportunity: Dr. Bruff will also be available for one-on-one 15 minute sessions from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm in SUB 234 to discuss strategies for incorporating visual thinking and learning into a course that you teach. Please contact Julia on 994-4371 to schedule an appointment.
Attendees will earn 1.5 credits towards CFE membership and 1.5 credits towards the Certificate for Teaching Enhancement.
