Abandoned Bike Removal on Campus
- Monday, May 7, 2018 to Friday, May 11, 2018
Attention Campus Bike Commuters:
MSU Facilities Services will be creating more bicycle parking opportunities and adjusting rack locations (in place) in the next few weeks. During that time, clearly abandoned, dilapidated or non-functional bikes will be removed, per MSU Bicycle Regulations, so as to make room for functioning bikes as our summer sessions start on May 14th. Bikes in question will be tagged with a yellow paper on the handlebar. Bikes stored at Residence Halls will not be subject to this general core campus area operation. Residence Life implements their own bike removal operation.
If your bike is one of those removed it will be impounded at University Police and may be retrieved per MSU Bicycle Regulations. As a general reminder, a functional bike is a much more fun bike, and both students and staff can find resources on and off campus to help keep their bike in tip top shape. Students can access very knowledgeable bike experts at the Outdoor Recreation building. Staff and students can visit the Bike Fix It Station on the west side of the Strand Union Building. The Bike Fix It Station features basic tools and a pump. Local bike shops are also a great resource for tubes, tires, and bike lights.
