Project Management Basics for professionals in science and technology

Montana State University Academic Technology and Outreach has partnered with the Montana Photonics Industry Alliance (MPIA) to offer a full-day workshop for professionals in the science and technology industries.
Explore the fundamentals of project management, including:
-How to define, set requirements for, and kick off a project
-Planning and organizing a project
-Executing the project plan
-Monitoring and controlling a project
-Closing a project
We will also work through several live exercises with different project management tools.
The instructor is Mark Carroll, a senior executive and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in the laser, photonic, energy and defense industries. He has held leadership positions at TRW Space Systems, Montana Instruments, Blackmore Sensors and Analytics, and New Focus. He has also guided strategic initiatives for firms such as ILX Lightwave and Oriel Instruments.
The workshop is open to the public; members of MPIA can receive a discount on tuition. Participants who also take Management 101 on July 10 will also receive a discount.
