Montana State University has gathered the community for an MSU-sponsored float during the Big Sky Pride Parade for the past three years and this year we would like to highlight the most important part: YOU, the people, our wonderful community of LGBTQ+ people, allies, and inclusive organizations and businesses. In preparation for the Big Sky Pride Parade, The MSU Office of Diversity & Inclusion and the Diversity & Inclusion Student Commons are hosting a LGBTQ+ Pride event on campus on June 19th to invite MSU campus partners and the greater Bozeman community to celebrate June or LGBTQ+ Pride Month.
This event will include yards games, face painting, music, and food! In addition, there will be opportunities to customize your very own "Pride Is" tshirt to wear to the Big Sky Pride Parade in Helena, MT on June 22, 2019. MSU is also creating an interactive string art installation which will allow participants to string each peg they identify with while weaving their identity and characteristics within others to create the letters of “MSU." This will be featured on the float at the Big Sky Pride Parade.
We will also have sign ups for carpools, participation in the parade and volunteering to help with float set up/take down.
This event is free and open the public.
