Graduation Date:

Spring 2021

Major:

Applied Mathematics

Quote:

After I left competitive gymnastics just before 12th grade, swimming filled a gap in my schedule and gave me a way to stay active and meet new people. Being able to join the swim club here at MSU provided a similarly valuable piece of continuity with the transition to college. Throughout my time at MSU the Swim Club and by extension the Club Sports Program has provided me with a welcoming environment to continue to be a part of a competitive sport without the extreme pressure and intensity that many competitive sports have. Overall Swim Club has enriched my experience at MSU by helping me gain organization and leadership skills. The sense of community, team goals, and chance to strive for personal athletic and fitness goals has helped replace some of what I felt I lost when I left gymnastics. The Swim Club is also a nice break from classes, as I tend to get very intense in my studies and swim club is an excellent chance to unwind and fit some exercise in.

Quote:

My involvement with the Women's Hockey club at MSU has been so influential to my experience at MSU. Hockey has always been a major part of my life and it was incredibly comforting to carry the sport with me when moving to a new state for my freshman year of college. I have met so many incredible people through the club sport community at MSU, and have learned so much about leadership, teamwork, and collaboration. I love how available club sports are to MSU students and I think there is so much value to be found in participation in any of these sports, both athletically and socially. The MSU Women's Hockey Club has had such a positive impact on my experience at MSU and I am so excited for future seasons!

Men’s Ultimate Frisbee is one of the best experiences I’ve had at MSU. I began casually playing in high school, but began to focus my time and energy into it when I joined the Rum Runners. It’s a welcoming, positive community that I’m proud to be a part of. Serving as the president of the team has taught me about leadership, accountability, and teamwork. I’m looking forward to future seasons with the team!
