MT Community Development Specialist Update

We have some exceptional community development learning opportunities that are open to the public in the coming months:

On Thur. Jan. 23 in MSU SUB Ballroom A, members of the MSU Extension Diversity and Inclusion Program Planning Group, along with MSU Diversity and Inclusion Student Commons, and others are proud to sponsor a public lecture to celebrate the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Georgetown law professor Anthony Cook titled, "King and the Beloved Community: A Critical Approach to Community Development." We will also live stream and record the lecture for those not able to attend in person.

On Tues. Feb. 18, we are working with the City of Bozeman, Institute on Ecosystems and MSU Office of Sustainability to bring you an evening lecture by physicist Dr. Rob Davies of the Utah Climate Center who will present on climate change impacts and solutions. We are planning more events for the afternoon and early evening so stay tuned for more information.

Lastly, this month's new "Article of Interest" is from the Journal of Extension by McKee et al. titled "Creating Inclusive Extension Programs" that stresses, "To respect and value all potential participants in our communities, we must prioritize developing inclusive educational spaces."
