Montana State awarded NASA grant for eclipse ballooning in 2023 and 2024

MSU's Nationwide Eclipse Ballooning Project is being funded by a $6.5 million NASA grant that will cover the cost of equipment and supplies so that 800 to 1,000 students, about 25 of them from Montana, can be part of the next eclipse ballooning experience.

MSU and Bobcat Athletics are encouraging fans to participate in the fourth annual "Pack the Place in Pink" event at the Oct. 22 home football game to promote breast cancer awareness.

Montana State snow and avalanche education workshop set for Oct. 26

The eighth annual MSU Snow and Avalanche Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 26, will feature a keynote speech by the Colorado rescuer who attempted to save an MSU student who died in an avalanche in January 2012.

The book group is led by MSU humanities and outreach librarian Jan Zauha. It is free and open to all members of the public.

Historian to speak about Indigenous land recovery Nov. 3 at Montana State

Eric Zimmer, an author and historian who specializes in Native American and public history, will speak about Indigenous people's efforts to reclaim their ancestral homelands on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. at American Indian Hall, Room 166, at MSU. The event is free and open to the public.

Nov. 2 virtual workshop for teachers features Montana State engineer who studies insect flight

The latest installment in a workshop series that connects Montana K-12 teachers to MSU researchers will be hosted online at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2. The free workshop is one of the MSU Science Math Resource Center's online professional development opportunities for educators.
