Turf to Trees 2025 - Wild Montana Skies

Montana State University Extension's Urban Integrated Pest Management program is hosting two sessions of the Turf to Trees workshop on August 13 and 14, 2025.

The workshops will offer participants a comprehensive exploration of the interconnected elements of a healthy native ecosystem focusing on water, soil, pollinators, trees, and herbaceous plants. Attendees will learn how water and soil quality influence plant growth, the essential role native pollinators play in Montana's landscapes, and how to utilize native trees and herbaceous perennials (including flowers and grasses) to create sustainable landscapes. 

Dates: Please sign up for only one day. The topics of each workshop are similar but adjusted to the specified audience.

Day 1, August 13, is tailored to green industry professionals and MSU Extension agents.

Day 2, August 14, is tailored to Master Gardeners, MSU Extension agents, and fellow horticulture enthusiasts.

Location: MSU Bozeman Campus: Plant Growth Center, 2nd floor, Room 214

Time: 8:30 am until 4:00 pm

Continuing education credits: MDA Pesticide Applicator Credits and ISA credits are pending. MSU Urban IPM Certification Program credits (5) and Montana Master Gardener continuing education credits (5) will also be available. The 25 available spaces for each workshop will be filled first come, first served. A registration fee of $85 will be charged per participant and workshop.
