Operations Plan for Engineer-a-thon 2020

  • Inspiration Hall in NAH
  • 8:00am - 3:00pm

Station participant responsibilities:

8:00 A.M.  

  • Clubs arrive at Shroyer to set up their station.
  • A map will be provided to groups with the layout of Inspiration Hall and location of the stations.

8:45 A.M.  

  • Buses arrive with the first group of 6th graders. They are ushered to bleachers for a short introduction and group assignments. 
  • Club representative comes to the front to lead their first group back their station.

9:00 A.M.

  • Booth demonstrations begin. (Based on 15 stations)
    • Plan for groups of about 10 students.
    • Prepare 8-9 minute presentations.
      • Include a description of the topic and how it relates to engineering or computer science.
      • Hands-on activities with lots of questions are great.
      • Teachers will be asked to help monitor students. Please keep kids at your station until the switch is signaled.
    • A 2-minute notification will be given, and then a prompt for groups to rotate.

11:30 A.M.

Demonstrations for the first group of students ends.  Students will be ushered to bleachers for closing remarks and then back onto the buses.  

11:45 A.M. -12:15 P.M.  

LUNCH!  Lunch will be provided in SUB Ballroom B for club members who are working at lunchtime. Please limit your workers to no more than 5.

12:00 P.M.  

  • Buses arrive with the second group of 6th graders. They are ushered to bleachers for a short introduction and group assignments. 
  • Club representative comes to the front to lead their first group back their station.

12:15 P.M.

  • Booth demonstrations begin.(Based on 15 stations)
    • Plan for groups of about 10 students.
    • Prepare 8-9 minute presentations.
