Active Minds is an organization that utilizes the student voice to change the conversation about mental health on college campuses. By developing and supporting chapters of a student-run awareness, education, and advocacy group on campuses, Active Minds works to increase students’ awareness of mental health issues, provide information and resources regarding mental health, encourage students to seek help as soon as it is needed, and serve as liaison between students and the mental health community. Through campus-wide events and national programs, Active Minds aims to remove the stigma that surrounds mental health issues and create a comfortable environment for an open conversation about mental health issues on campuses throughout North America.
We are proud to have an Active Minds chapter here at MSU. We are committed to carrying out the goals of Active Minds and have fun while doing so. We have created and participated in multiple events across campus such as “Stress Out Week,” “Send Silence Packing,” and “Bowling to Strike Out Stigma.” If you’re interested in joining our club, please email us for more information. It’s a great way to meet new people, get involved in the campus community, and promote Mental Health!
