The MSU/Bozeman Good Neighbor Committee will host a free seminar to help MSU students planning to live off-campus for the first time to negotiate local resources and how to be good neighbors.

"Off Campus Living 101" will be offered on Saturday, March 5,  Gaines Hall 101 from 11a.m.-1p.m.

Geared toward students moving off campus for the first time since leaving home, seminar topics will include finding the right rental property, important safety features, understanding lease agreements,  tenant rights and responsibilities and financial education.  Panelists will advise on selecting responsible roommates and making a successful transition into local neighborhoods. Panelists will include representatives from  MSU Community Relations, Dean of Students office, Office of Financial Education, MSU Police, Bozeman Police Department, MSU Residence Life, Bozeman Fire Department, Peak Property Management and MSU Students living off campus

Launched in 2012, the Good Neighbor Committee encourages positive interactions between permanent community residents and students through a myriad of programs and this seminar provides education and resources  to equip students to be good neighbors and citizens. This committee includes representatives from the Bozeman City Mangaer's office, code compliance office, Bozeman Police and Fire Departments, University Communications, Dean of Students office, Activities and Engagement office, MSU Housing, MSU Police Department, ASMSU, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Peak Property Managemant, Bozeman Inter-Neighborhood Council and a local community business representative.

Participating students will be eligible to win more than $500 in raffle prizes including an IPad mini.

Refreshments will be served.
