Registration is required. Please RSVP at the link below.
This training will be entry level training to introduce you to the Web Content Management System (CMS), focusing on how to edit content and create new content. Targeted advanced training on specific topics is currently available at Open Support sessions.
Each registrant will be given a personal sandbox for participating in the training. Your sandbox will continue to be available for ongoing testing, practice, and any more advanced training you choose to attend.
After the training, you will be able to request access to the site or sites you will be working on within the CMS. If your site is not yet in the CMS, we can immediately set up a blank site for you to start building in (or manually copying content to) from scratch. Otherwise, we will put your existing sites in the queue for our migration. As a warning this may be multiple weeks out from the time you request it. If you are not sure of your site's status in regards to the CMS, please submit a request for clarification.
When RSVPing, please make sure the information you provide is correct for the person who will be attending training as this is used to create the sandbox and CMS account which will be used. Computers will be available for training: your NetID is required to log in to both the lab workstations and the CMS. If you bring a laptop, you will still need to know your NetID in order to log into the CMS. You will also need to have basic familiarity with using a web browser, such as navigation and switching between browser tabs, as well as familiarity with basic web terminology, such as hyperlinks. You do not need to know HTML to use the CMS for basic editing.
