A collaboration between University Information Technology (UIT) and MSU Library, the Data Infrastructure and Scholarly Communication (DISC) group combines expertise and infrastructure to enhance MSU's research enterprise. DISC provides MSU researchers with computational, data, and digital resources and expertise that increase discovery, build knowledge, and communicate scholarly work. The work conducted by personnel within our four integrated functional areas intends to elevate the research excellence and recognition of MSU faculty.

Our Vision: Advancing Research and Amplifying Impact

Our Mission:We provide MSU researchers with computational, data, and digital resources and expertise that increase discovery, build knowledge, and communicate scholarly work.

DISC combines resources from MSU’s Library and University Information Technology to affect two mainareas of research:

  1. Elevate Research Capacity: provide infrastructure that helps build strong teams to win proposals and carry out top flight research.
  2. Improve Research Support: offer services for scholarly communication, data services, digital scholarship, and search engine optimization.
These efforts are already evident across campus, but DISC focuses these services so that they are more intentional, accessible, and known to researchers and partner organizations at MSU. These centralized services are essential to remain competitive and successful in today's research environment.
