This tutorial shows how to use a TechSmith Learning Tool Integration (LTI) to place an "External Learning Tool" link into the Content area of a Brightspace course.

An LTI created link/topic is referred to as an "External Learning Tool" inside of Brightspace. Using this linking method gives access to complete student specific analytics inside a user's TechSmith Library in addition to the statistics available inside Brightspace afforded by the "Class Progress" and "Content > Table of Contents > Related Tools > View Reports" areas. Additionally, using the LTI adds the ability to tailor "Grade Reporting" related to TechSmith videos when creating a link to a TechSmith video within a Brightspace content module.

Create a link to a TechSmith video in the Content area using the LTI

 While in a course:

  1. Select the "Content" link on the course nav bar
  2. Access a module where the video links will be located
    • in this case, the module is named "TechSmith Videos"
  3. Select the "Existing Activities" button to expand the drop menu
  4. Select "TechSmith" from the drop menu

A login screen will display.
