GLIDE (San Francisco, CA): GLIDE reaches those most in need, providing food, housing assistance, healthcare, and family services. We meet basic needs, stabilize lives, create pathways out of poverty, and work for systemic change. Our work is grounded in our values of radical inclusivity, unconditional love, truth telling, and celebration. We work on the front lines of poverty, look everyone in the eye, turn no one away, and transform lives.
Oregon State Parks (South Beach, OR)
Spend a week on the historic bay front near Newport, Oregon maintaining protected coastal land. Students will stay at South Beach State Park and provide support in a park cleanup, as well as help set the ground work for the opening of a new Oregon State Park in the coastal region.
Habitat for Humanity (Bozeman, MT):Habitat for Humanity of Gallatin Valley helps people transform their lives by partnering with families and our communities to construct well-built affordable housing.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (Kanab, UT): The mission of Best Friends is to end the killing in America's animal shelters and create a time when there are No More Homeless Pets. We do this by building community programs and partnerships all across the nation.” They hope to lead by example sharing and promoting new programs and ideas to help animals. The animal sanctuary owns nearly 3,700 acres, and leases another 17,000 acres for their approximate 1,700 animals. Their vision is to create “A better world through kindness to animals.
Refugee Focus (Phoenix, AZ)
The group will be working with Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest. They are dedicated to helping refugees from troubled nations throughout the world establish new lives in Arizona, which includes establishing safety, community connections and economic self-reliance. Volunteers will be able to participate in a variety of activities, such as helping refugees learn how to use their local public library, taking youth on a hike or outdoor excursion, helping with after-school program activities and more! A great opportunity to make a positive impact on refugee individuals and families.
