ASMSU Community Service & Engagement Program Director
2023-2024 Position Description
The Office of Student Engagement’s Community Engagement programing is one of the four pillars of our office. These programs connect MSU students to their community by providing service opportunities locally and nationally, connections to campus and community life through involvement fairs, campus service traditions such as Service Saturdays, Can the Griz, Rockin’ the “M”, and more. The goal for the Community Engagement Program Director is to support and sustain these existing programs in coordination with Community Engagement Program Associate.
Work Schedule: Flexible, depending on academic schedule. 15-19 hours/week during academic year (excluding university holidays & breaks).
Employment Start Date: August 14, 2023 (may have some summer hours)
End Date: May 17, 2024
Wage: Bi-weekly stipend of $285.00 over 20 pay periods. Total stipend $5,700 over academic year (including over breaks).
Eligibility:
Must be a full-time enrolled MSU-Bozeman student (at least 7 credits per semester) or pay activity fee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate at least one Service Saturday event per month (October-April), establishing 4-6 individual projects for each Saturday. Work with Community Engagement Program Associate to accomplish the following:
- Communicate with local non-profit organizations to collect project proposals and develop service projects for each Service Saturday.
- Recruit project leaders and drivers for each event, holding leader training as necessary. TheCommunity Engagement Director is allowed to lead a project, but it is not required.
- Accurately track volunteer numbers, hours and impacts of service projects on the community and participants.
- Act as point person for host sites, project leaders, volunteers, and drivers on day of Service Saturday.
- Work with student groups (i.e. student organizations, athletics, etc.) to increase awareness and participation in Service Saturdays and other community service projects.
- Work with the ASMSU Marketing Team to develop new marketing strategies to encourage participation from the MSU community in community service projects.
- Meet weekly with Advisor Pro-Staff in OSE.
- Meet Monthly with Supervisor ASMSU VP.
- Meet weekly with Community Engagement Team.
- Meet weekly with Community Engagement Program Associate.
- Hold regular office hours, averaging 10-15 hours/week.
- Oversee budget for community engagement.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience organizing events and organizing volunteers strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
- Previous volunteer experience preferred.

Eligibility: Must be a full-time enrolled MSU-Bozeman student (at least 7 credits per semester) or pay activity fee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Community Engagement Program Director as needed to assist with all elements of Service Saturdays.
- Includes but not limited to recruitment efforts, project coordination, outreach events (such as tabling), etc.
- TheCommunity Engagement Program Associate is allowed to lead a project, but it is not required.
- Assist with volunteer recruitment and management for the Can the Griz grocery store food drives and tailgates in November. More information about the Can the Griz food drive can be found here.
- Assist with recruitment of BreaksAway trip leaders in the fall, and participants in the spring.
- Help with planning the Spring Involvement Fair.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience organizing volunteers preferred but not required.

Bounty of the Bridgers Intern
2023-2024 Position Description
The mission of the Bounty of the Bridgers Pantry (BoB) is to eliminate food insecurity in the MSU community by providing consistent, accessible food resources across campus.
Bounty of the Bridgers is a nonprofit, on-campus food pantry that was started in 2017 to battle food insecurity among college students at MSU. The pantry serves the entire MSU community including faculty, staff, and students. We are seeking a student interested in public health, food security, sustainable food systems, housing security, basic needs, or related topics to join the Bounty of the Bridgers team.
Work Schedule: Hours: 10-20 hours per week. Summer and Fall internships available. An ideal intern will fulfill food rescue and pantry operation hours on Saturdays from 10am to 3:30pm and complete the remainder of their weekly hours during our pantry schedule, as it fits around their school schedule: Monday from 1-5pm, Tuesday from 2-6pm, Wednesday from 1-5pm, and Thursday from 2-6pm. There are opportunities for hours other times during the week, but preference is given to interns that can consistently commit to time within the hours outlined above.

2023-2024 Position Description
The ASMSU Student Political Action Director represents ASMSU and student interests in local government politics. This position collaborates with local government officials, Montana Legislators, political administrators, and community leaders to advance efforts that support the student experience and student interests. This position requires that you set aside your personal political beliefs and engage open mindedly with student constituents and represent their perspectives and the ASMSU agenda. Promote voting in local government elections, civic engagement, and community service. Help make the student voice politically influential. Host events and forums to engage student feedback and share ASMSU initiatives. You will be a leader in improving life at MSU and our broader community.

ASMSU Elections Director
2023-2024 Position Description
Work Schedule: Flexible, depending on academic schedule. Approx. 10-15 hours/week during academic year (excluding university holidays & breaks).
Employment: November 2022-May 2023
Wage: Stipend $200.00 per pay period, 19 pay periods, Paid out bi-weekly. Total stipend $2,275.00 over academic year (including over breaks).
Eligibility: Must be a full-time enrolled MSU-Bozeman student (at least 7 credits per semester) or pay activity fee.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Elections Director facilitates the student body elections for Montana State University, especially communications, rules compliance, and hosting events
- Must have exceptional organization and communication skills and be willing to work on a highly collaborative teams and meet strict deadlines
- Holds a minimum of 7 office hours per week and works closely with the Director of Operations, the Chief Justice, Student Government and Student Engagement and Leadership Advisor to run a smooth election and increase voter turnout.
- Organizes multiple events and manage the elections budget
- Support student leader candidates with timely communication, clear explanations of the rules, and hosted events to promote their candidacy
- Conduct outreach events, forums, and surveys

We are THE HUB for students interested in connecting with their fellow Bobcats through student government, student organizations, programs and events, and engaging in service to the community. Associated Students of MSU (ASMSU) is the student government association serving as the elected voice of MSU-Bozeman students. ASMSU Student Directors within the Office of Student Engagement are responsible for managing programs for students and the campus community. Their programs and positions are paid for by student fee dollars. The Marketing Team is comprised of seven student employees (PR Director, 3 Graphic Designers, 1 Marketing Associate, 1 Social Media Specialist, 1 Media Productions Director, 1 ASMSU Events Marketing Associate).

- The PR Director will manage the Marketing Team (1 Lead Graphic Designer, 3 Graphic Designers, 1 Marketing Associate, 1 Social Media Specialist, 1 Media Productions Director, 1 ASMSU Events Marketing Associate), will manage the creation and purchasing of Office of Student Engagement promotional items, will table at promotional events such as Orientation, MSU Friday, and Catapalooza, will assist other Office of Student Engagement Program Directors in the promotion of their events, and will manage all Office of Student Engagement social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, & Twitter).
- The Public Relations Director will create a comprehensive and consistent marketing strategy to promote all Office of Student Engagement and ASMSU programs, activities, and events to ensure MSU students are fully aware of the services and programs that the office provides.
- The Director will strive to centralize Office of Student Engagement branding efforts to establish a general understanding of the overall mission of the organization.
- The PR Director must be proficient in email, photography, Facebook/Meta Ads, and social media including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite highly recommended.
- The Director will be responsible for hiring Marketing Team members each year.
- The Director is responsible for managing a budget which includes routine presentations to the ASMSU Senate and Finance Board.
- The Director will be invited to attend weekly ASMSU branch meetings to ensure communication and collaboration with the Office of Student Engagement as a whole entity.
- The Director will be advised by the ASMSU Vice President and the OSE Communications & ASMSU Program Manager.

- The Media Productions Director must be proficient in video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid, etc.), photo editing software (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.), and animation software (After Effects).
- The Media Productions Director will be expected to create promotional videos and graphics for events throughout the year (Trivia Nights, Contracted Entertainers, Etc.).
- The Media Productions Director will also produce recap highlight videos of larger events (MSU Debut, Homecoming, Spring Concert, etc.).
- The Media Productions Director will be expected to attend all or nearly all of the events hosted on campus to capture photos and videos that will be used in recaps and promotional videos.

- Responsible for managing graphic requests and delegating assignments to the other graphic designers. They will be the point of contact for all graphic requests and will meet with the PR Director on a regular basis.
- The Graphic Designers will be supervised by the ASMSU Public Relations Director and advised by the ASMSU Vice President. The Marketing Team is advised by the Communications & ASMSU Program Manager.
- Responsible for holding graphic design team meetings.
- The Office of Student Engagement Graphic Designer provides strategic design to appropriately convey the office’s branding for a wide variety of subjects.
- The designer’s knowledge should include an understanding of typography, attention to detail, proof reading, and an understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop).
- The Graphic Designer will work with student organizations to meet their graphic design needs including posters, Instagram and TV assets, logo designs, and shirt designs.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Knowledge and skills of videography and/or photography may also be beneficial.
- Willingness to learn Montana State University’s CMS web editing software.

ASMSU Marketing Associate
2023-2024 Position Description
The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) provides and facilitates student engagement opportunities for MSU students through a variety of programs, events, services, and activities. We are THE HUB for students interested in connecting with their fellow Bobcats through student government, student organizations, programs and events, and engaging in service to the community. The Office of Student Engagement's Marketing Associate will be part of the OSE Marketing. The Marketing Associate will develop social media content, create social media plans, evaluate ROI (return of investment) of paid social, generate the weekly Bobcat Buzz (SUB bathroom advertising), assist with evaluating and advocating for Marketing Team budget at ASMSU Senate meetings, and create and publish news on CatsConnect. The ASMSU Social Media Specialist will be part of the ASMSU Marketing Team. - The Arts & Exhibits Assistant Director assists the Arts & Exhibits Director with implementing various exhibits in the Exit Gallery, on and off campus throughout the year.

- Assists with or leads (when needed) Installation and deinstallation, and gallery reception implementation. Implements poster distribution, social media and marketing plans, and supply closet maintenance.

- The Assistant will be the first point of attendant management in regards to scheduling conflicts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Films Director is responsible for all aspects of operating the ASMSU Procrastinator Theater.
- Make all programming decisions, working with film distributors to obtain rights for film exhibition and negotiate contracts, managing and scheduling a staff of Theater Operators, developing strategies for marketing communications and effectively executing those plans, managing and maintaining theater technology, facilities, and resources in collaboration with SUB Administration, Conference and Events Services, and third party contractors.
- The Films Director also plans and organizes special events in the theater – both independently and with campus and community organizations.
- The Films Director will be responsible for hiring and managing a minimum of 6 associates to help with the production of the theater.
- The Films Director is responsible for managing a budget which includes routine presentations to the ASMSU Senate and Finance Board.
- The Films Director will be advised by the OSE Assistant Director and supervised by the ASMSU Vice President.

- The position is open to all majors, while experience with audio/visual technology and video editing software is preferred.

- The ASMSU Student Director of Diversity and Inclusion is responsible for promoting and actively working towards an inclusive and welcoming environment within ASMSU and the MSU campus.

Mission:
ASMSU is the student government association serving as the elected voice of the students of Montana State University-Bozeman with the mission of enhancing the overall educational experience of students by providing leadership and employment opportunities for students and by providing diverse student oriented non-academic programs and services cost effectively through responsible fiscal management of student activity fees.
ASMSU Senate is the legislative body of the Associated Students of Montana State University (ASMSU). All legislative powers of ASMSU are vested in the Senate. All enrolled students, taking more than 7 credit hours, are welcome and qualified for a seat on the Senate. Voting membership consists of 21 voting Senators and the Senate President who can only vote to break ties.
ASMSU Senate allocates the student activity fees to ASMSU programs and initiatives through annual budgeting each spring semester. It’s your job to decide how the students want their money budgeted, the causes the student body supports, and the issues that are most important.
