BANR studies the major challenges limiting the use of insect-killed trees in the Rockies as a sustainable feedstock for bioenergy.

The Bioenergy Alliance Network of the Rockies (BANR) is a consortium of university, government, and industry researchers funded under the USDA-NIFA Bioenergy CAP program to assess the feasibility of harvesting beetle-killed wood and other forest residues as a feedstock for the production of liquid biofuels and biochar co-products in the Rocky Mountain region.

Our YouTube channel features presentations from our researchers and collaborators on a variety of topics including mountain pine beetle infestations, cellulosic biofuel production from woody feedstocks, the environmental effects of application to agricultural systems, and others.
