Sally Weber
I am a freshman at Montana State University where I am studying Mechanical Engineering. I am from Libby, MT (which is a GEAR UP school in Northwestern Montana). In high school, GEAR UP provided a lot of information about college that has been super helpful. I was able to choose MSU with their help. I was inspired to attend college by my parents who both went to college. I am driven to graduate in order to work in a career field that I am passionate about. In my free time, I enjoy playing music and being outside!

The Thompson Falls girls basketball team was in Bozeman on March 10th for the State Class B Basketball Tournaments. They stopped on campus for a quick info session on Gallatin College from Jessi Cannaday (right). Thompson Falls also got a chance to learn about the GEAR UP MSU first-year services that would be offered to them.

The Lodge Grass boys basketball team was also in Bozeman on March 9th for the State Class B Basketball Tournaments. The American Indian Council hosted them for dinner in American Indian Hall.

Superior High School visited campus on March 10-11. They participated in MSU Friday activities, ate in Rendezvous Dining Hall, and got an exclusive experience with some Superior High School alumni. They toured the residence halls with Superior Alum Bailey Milender, who is currently an MSU Freshman. They also got to meet and talk with Superior High Alum Ryan Haskins (left) as he demonstrated some activities in the Gallatin College Aviation program.

The MSU American Indian Council Pow Wow was held on March 25th-26th this year and was a huge success. GEAR UP MSU was one of the sponsors of the event and hosted a GEAR UP MSU Open House on Friday, March 25th. The open house welcomed pow wow visitors into our offices to meet the staff and learn more about the GEAR UP services provided to first-year students from GEAR UP schools. One of our very own GEAR UP MSU first-year students, Visara Whiteman was a participant in the pow wow.

Rocky Boy High School students (above) toured MSU and Gallatin College on March 24th-25th. They got the chance to visit the American Indian Hall, meet Miss Indian MSU, participate in some hands-on science activities, and have a meal in the campus dining hall.
