New Student Orientation

June 13th-15th and June 27th-29th
MSU is eager to welcome the next incoming class of freshmen with two New Student Orientations in June. New students  will spend 2 and a half days on campus learning about programs and services and registering for fall courses.  There will be lots of opportunities for students to familiarize themselves with peers and with campus.

GEAR UP MSU is excited to welcome two summer programs to campus. These summer programs are completely FREE for Montana GEAR UP middle and high school students.

  • Ecology Project International Yellowstone Wildlife Ecology, June 18-22 
Early Move-In for GEAR UP Students is on Wednesday, August 17th

The incoming Fall 2022 first-year students from Montana's GEAR UP high schools will be able to move in to their dorm room early in order to attend the GEAR UP/TRIO Smart Start Orientation on August 18-19th. We will have more information available as the date gets closer. Be looking out for updates!

GEAR UP is partnering with TRIO Student Support Services to host "Smart Start" New Student Orientation, a program specifically for students in GEAR UP or TRIO SSS. The two-day program will include an opportunity for early move-in, meals provided by GEAR UP MSU and TRIO, outdoor recreational activities, social networking, a fun activity with other MSU programs, and so much more!
St. Regis High School on MSU's campus

St. Regis High School visited MSU's campus on May 2nd.They received a campus tour, a residence hall tour, and ate lunch at Rendezvous Dining Hall with a St. Regis grad who is currently an MSU student.

On May 5th, Lame Deer High School visited MSU and received a day full oftours of the American Indian Hall, residence halls and a meal in the dininghalls. Thanks for visiting Lame Deer! Come back soon!

Town and Country Foods Grocery Store Provided our $100 gift cards for student drawings

The GEAR UP MSU office had a Champ Change Drawing on May 10th, where first-year GEAR UP students won a $100 gift card to Town and Country, a local grocery store. The winners were Darby Wells, Macie Flamm, Trevyn Carter, Benjamin Noteboom, Emily Pease, Visara Whiteman, Isaac O'Rourke, Xada Little Wolf, and Arena Matt.

Students from Browning High School on decision day with their committments to Bozeman, MSU in the fall.

Browning High School participated in Decision Day on May 12th. Thank you, Browning High School, for having GEAR UP MSU and MSU American Indian/Alaska Native Student Success participate virtually in Decision Day celebrations. Congratulations BHS graduating class of 2022! We're excited to welcome you to Montana State University this Fall!
