Student : Memberships & Lockers
The university has worked hard to restore fitness center services to the best extent possible.
We understand that the temporary pop-up locations that the University provided did not fully replace the Hosaeus Fitness Center functionality, which is why the university provided students who had fitness center access with a $12 credit to their student accounts. This amount is approximately half of what each student pays in fees to operate the fitness center per semester, reflecting the half-semester closure. Student fees that are used toward principal and interest on the fitness center debt cannot be returned, so the refund includes only those fees used toward daily operations.
Refunds to students taking six or fewer credits during the Spring 2019 semester, who paid the extra activity fee of $113.24 have been paid out .
Pro-rated refunds for locker fees paid by student patrons were posted to their student accounts on April 18, 2019. This included 50% of the rental cost for Spring semester, full reimbursement for Summer 2019 rental (if applicable), and the $5 locker deposit collected with the first semester of a locker rental.
All items have been removed from locker rooms "A", "B", and "G". Patrons who had lockers in those areas are asked to retrieve their items now. The Shroyer entrance is located on the west side of the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center near the HHD Advising Office. If you have questions regarding whether or not, we have your contents, please call the Rec Sports office at 994-5000.
Non-Student: Memberships & Lockers
All 2018/19 members of the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center will be receiving pro-rated membership through the current membership year (which ends August 31, 2019), as well as locker refunds, if applicable. (Locker refunds will be based on the amount that was paid by the locker holder and the time remaining on the locker contract.) For those using the payroll deduction option, all deductions have ceased for the remainder of the membership year. All payments are expected to be complete by August 1, 2019.
Please note these additional details:
- Faculty and Staff saw their refunds reflected on their May paychecks.
- Retirees, Alumni, and Special Use members will receive a refund in the mail from MSU. Please call 406-994-5000 to provide your address.

Current lockers will expire on September 3, 2019 for all current locker holders. Renewal can be done in person at the Shroyer pop-up during regular business hours or online at https://secure.recsports.msu.montana.edu/.

Group Exercise Classes (GX)
Updated information on Group Exercise classes can be found at the link below. A $49 summer membership to the Hosaeus Fitness Center is required for access.
ACT courses will be offered fall semester of 2019. However, due to the uncertainty of the fitness center gyms/studios/weight room locations, most ACT courses are not open for immediate registration. A waitlist is available through MyInfo for those interested in a course. Students may “register” themselves on the waitlist in order to receive notification and priority registration opportunities once the course location is finalized and the course is open for registration. We encourage students to get on the waitlist to reserve a spot. Directions for the waitlist can be found at http://www.montana.edu/registrar/waitlisting.html.
We anticipate being able to open up courses for registration as soon as we hear more about locations becoming available. If you have any questions please contact the ACT lead coordinator, Abbey Holm [email protected].
