Program Overview
This program is the continuation of an ongoing Service Learning Program in Zaouiat Ahansal, Morocco, where our MSU students go and teach and learn with local village children and adults. The program started in 2013, then led by Ada Giusti, with subsequent years lead by Pascale Hickman. We continue our relationship with Atlas Cultural Foundations and Association SMINID to find the best ways to enrich each others' lives through learning, teaching, and linguistic and cultural exchange.

We begin and end the program in Marrakesh, as our students are free to travel on their own before and after the program. The arrival date for Marrakesh is May 26,2020 (which means a departure from the United States on May 25 as it is an overnight flight). The departure date from Marrakesh is June 8 when the program ends.

Upon arrival on May 26 we stay one night in Marrakesh before departing for Zaouiat Ahansal on May 27 by private coach transport. In accordance with years' past, we stay at the Sheikh's house in Zaouiat Ahansal for the duration of our time in the village. Students teach daily at local schools.  On June 5 we take a hiking excursion to Taghia, where we stay the night in a gite. The following morning (June 6) we hike back to Zaouiat for our last evening in Zaouiat Ahansal. On June 7 we travel back from Zaouiat to Marrakesh for one last night before the program ends in Marrakesh on the morning of June 8, 2020.
