Face masks are required in all on-campus buildings, including residence halls and outside where social distancing cannot be maintained.

The Residence Halls open for the spring semester at Noon on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

Any returning fall student needing to stay on-campus during Snowmester or new spring student needing to move-in early (prior to Wednesday, January 6) can register to stay on-campus through our Break Housing process. All students will be charged $25/night that they are living in their residence hall room.

New Spring 2021 Students Moving-In

All new students moving into the residence halls can begin to move-in on or after Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Noon, MST. There is no requirement for setting up an appointment or pre-arranging a move-in time.

Please Note:

  • Students will need either their CatCard or a photo ID to check into their residence hall
  • In your room, you will find the following furnishings: extra long twin bed (regular twin beds are furnished in the Quads and Roskie Hall), closet, trash can, desk, and chair.

  • Residence Life has partnered with Collegiate Concepts, Inc. (CCI) to offer students the opportunity to rent MicroFridges for the entire academic year that are delivered and installed in their room prior to arrival. More information about this option is available on the Collegiate Concepts website
  • All students and family members are required to wear a mask when they enter the residence halls. Many of our hall lobbies and public spaces do not allow for 6-feet of social distancing and we are asking for your assistance in wearing a mask. If you do not have a mask, MSU will have masks for students and family members upon their arrival to campus.
  • All students are limited to 2 family members or guests in the building for no more than 2 hours. This does not limit the number of additional family members or guests outside of the building, but in an effort to limit the number of people in the buildings, we will be enforcing the guest and visitor policy upon entry to the building.

Fall 2020 Students Returning to Campus

Fall MSU students returning to the residence halls can begin to move back in on or after Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Noon, MST. There is no requirement for setting up an appointment or pre-arranging a move-in time.

Please note that you will need to stop by the residence hall front desk to pick up your room/mailbox keys if you dropped them off at the end of the fall semester.

Health and Safety Expectations

The Residence Life staff has been working closely with MSU, county, and state officials to continually evaluate all aspects of campus housing and required adjustments in our physical environments. We continue to work with our partners to develop mitigation strategies for all of our residents living in the residence halls. In an effort to provide a safe and streamlined process for everyone as we kick off the spring semester, Residence Life is asking that all students and families abide by the expectations laid out below:

  • All students and family members are required to wear a mask when they enter the residence halls. Many of our hall lobbies and public spaces do not allow for 6-feet of social distancing and we are asking for your assistance in wearing a mask. If you do not have a mask, MSU will have masks for students and family members upon their arrival to campus.
  • All students are limited to 2 family members or guests in the building. This does not limit the number of additional family members or guests outside of the building, but in an effort to limit the number of people in the buildings, we will be enforcing the guest and visitor policy upon entry to the building.
  • Students and famliy members will be asked to wipe down any move-in carts in between each individuals use with disinfectant wipes. Custodial staff will also be wiping down elevator cars, button, and all other touch surfaces throughout the residence hall on a regular basis.

Get your new Clean 'Cat Kit

The Clean 'Cat Kit is a free tool for you to use to help ensure the cleanliness of the areas you touch each day. The spring Clean 'Cat Kit will include a Bobcat cloth face mask and a refillable bottle of hand sanitizer. Refill stations for the hand sanitizer are available at more than 80 locations campus-wide.

Residence Hall Students: Kits will be distributed to resident students at the hall front desks

Commuter Students: Kits may be picked up during the first week of classes at the following locations:

Parking

All students and families that drive to campus will be expected to either have purchased a parking pass or place a temporary move-in parking credential on their vehicle dashboard when parking  on campus between January 6 - January 10, 2021.
