We are excited that you plan to visit us at Montana State University. In the interest of the health and safety of visitors and staff, space is limited. Please use the form below to schedule your visit, preferably at least 2 weeks in advance* so that we can make the necessary arrangements to ensure your campus visit is as valuable, insightful and fun as possible.

* We are happy to do our best to schedule visits less than 2 weeks in advance, but we may not be able to accommodate meetings with admission counselors and/or academic departments.

Limited On-Campus Visits:

Due to COVID-19 safety protocols and space restrictions, in-person campus visits are capped at a maximum number of visitors per day. Full visit days are greyed out on the calendar. Once a day is full, we cannot take any more campus visitors. You are welcome to check back to see if that date becomes available, in which case you may submit a visit request. Completing a visit request for a date you are unable to visit takes that spot away from another prospective student who may be looking to visit that day. Prospective students are asked to limit the number of guests accompanying them to 1-2 people if possible.

Additional Information:

  • Face Coverings:

In the interest of the health and safety of visitors and staff, please wear a face mask. These masks are one of the tools we can use to help slow the spread of the virus. Because people can carry and spread the virus without having symptoms, or with very mild symptoms, wearing a cloth face mask helps protect those around you by reducing the risk of virus spread. While a mask may not protect the wearer, it may keep the person wearing it from spreading the virus to others, according to the CDC, as droplets from sneezes, coughs, and even talking can spread the virus as much as 6 feet. The face mask requirement is supported by guidance from the Board of Regents of the Montana University System, the Gallatin City-County Board of Health's mask requirement, and CDC guidance for public eventsMSU is committed to reducing the spread of COVID-19, and we thank you for your consideration during your visit.

  • Walk-In Visitors:

Should a visitor come to the Office of Admissions and not be pre-registered for a guided campus tour, we will follow one of two paths:

      • If there is space available for the visitor and their guests to join a guided campus tour, we will help register the visitor for the tour and provide them with a visit packet.
      • If there is no space available on one of the guided campus tours, we will provide information about our self-guided walking tour, provide them with a visit packet, and answer any questions.

  • MSU Saturday Program:
Our MSU Saturday visit program will be offered during the current upcoming academic year on January 23, February 20 (STEM-focused day), March 6, March 13, and April 17. Individual campus visits are not offered on these dates. For more information about MSU Saturday or to register, please visit the MSU Saturday website. The MSU Saturday program will incorporate the same opportunities offered by an individual visit. If you register for MSU Saturday, please refrain from requesting an individual visit as our space is limited in both programs.

  • Group Visits:
The form below is only for individual campus visits. To schedule a group campus visit, please contact the Campus Visit Coordinator directly via email at [email protected] or by phone at (406) 994-1989 or toll-free at (888) MSU-CATS.

  • Transfer students scheduling orientation:
We welcome prospective freshmen, transfers and families to schedule visits through the online form below! However, if you are a new transfer student who is scheduling transfer orientation, please visit the Orientation website. Transfer students who select Orientation Option 1 must schedule their advising meetings directly through their Academic Department. Transfer students are welcome to go on a campus tour in addition to their individual orientation advising session.

  • Graduate students:
All meetings and tours scheduled through the Office of Admissions are focused on undergraduate students. The Graduate School does not perform campus tours. However, they can assist with scheduling a department tour. Contact The Graduate School via their website..
