Claire Mitchell, Ph.D.
Dr. Mitchell has over 15 years of experience supporting students at the graduate level in the fields of medicine / biomedical research, engineering, and education. She earned her M.A. in higher education from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in adult learning and higher education from the University of Virginia, where she subsequently worked for over a decade with faculty in the Schools of Education and Medicine on large NIH / NIGMS grants focusing on how to best support students in their pursuit of and persistence in MD and joint MD/PhD programs. A teacher at heart, Dr. Mitchell has also served as a visiting assistant professor and has taught master’s and doctoral-level classes on topics including the science of learning and social science research. She is very excited to support Montana State University WWAMI students as they prepare for Step One and beyond.
