Confined Space Rescue
Colstrip, MT (Fall - TBA)
Kalispell, MT (Jan. 18-21, 2019)

Course Objective:  The Confined Space Rescue course is designed to provide the student with hands on experience in the areas of hazard assessment, air monitoring, rope systems, and rescue techniques that may be required during a confined space rescue incident.

 

Prerequisites:  Previous experience/training in rope systems, mechanical advantage, and high angle rescue.  If you have questions about the prerequisites, please contact FSTS Regional Trainer Jon Campbell at (406) 758 7761.

 

Course Delivery:  Confined Space Rescue is a hands-on course with all portions of the class occurring indoors.  There will be some classroom time to discuss principles and regulations as they relate to confined space operations.  Students will need a good pair of work boots, leather gloves, and eye protection.  Students may bring their own helmet and/or appropriate Type III harness, but are not required.  Students who complete the course will receive a certificate of training in Confined Space Rescue.

 

Delivery Dates:  Jan. 18-21, 2019

Delivery Times:  0900-1700 on Jan. 18, 0800-1700 Jan. 19-21

Delivery Location: Kalispell Fire Department, Station 62, 255 Reserve Loop Drive, Kalispell, MT 59901

 

Cost: $695 per student.  Travel, hotel, and per diem are the responsibility of the student or their sponsoring agency. Students will be responsible for their own lunches.

Swiftwater Rescue 
Sun Canyon TBA

This course satisfies NFPA 1006 Technical Rescue for Swiftwater Rescuer. Training Portions will be at various locations on the Yellowstone River and around Livingston during high water. Tuition cost is $695 for MT fire department members. Includes Lunch, Handouts and/or any pre-course materials. It is recommended you bring your own (department) equipment. However, rental equipment from private business rentals is available and contact info will be provided upon request if you wish to rent. You MUST be a capable swimmer to participate in this course. Non compliance of this requirement will be obvious by the first day.
