Dr. Kregg Aytes

Kregg Aytes received his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona in 1984, at which time he began his career as a Systems Engineer for IBM in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1989, he left IBM to earn his doctorate in Management Information Systems, once again from the University of Arizona. In 1993, Kregg joined the faculty of the College of Business at Idaho State University, where he later served as department chair, associate dean, and most recently, as interim dean of the college. In July of 2012, Kregg joined the Montana State University Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship (JJCBE) as dean. He returned to the faculty in 2018.

Kregg has taught a wide variety of courses over the years and has received several college and university teaching awards. His research interests include information security, the use of technology to support entrepreneurship and teamwork, and information technology strategy.

Outside of the office, Kregg likes to spend as much time as possible outdoors, either playing tennis, running, hiking, or biking.
