Greetings from MSU!

 

Author of Life of Pi, Yann Martel will speak at the 2013 Freshman Convocation. Martel's worldwide bestseller was the winner of a Man Booker prize and was made into an Academy Award-nominated film directed by Ang Lee. Martel's speech will kick off MSU's "Year of Engaged Leadership", an initiative that will encourage the MSU community to become better everyday leaders. Selected students will also have the opportunity to attend the Master Class with Yann Martel.

Fall 2014 SAT/ACT-Based Freshman Scholarships range between $2,000 and $15,000 per year for four years (with maintenance of a 3.0/4.0 GPA). This award is automatic, guaranteed and renewable. To be eligible, you must be a freshman applicant, apply to MSU and send your SAT or ACT score to MSU. More information

A MSU professor has been chosen to join a $12 million international research effort to give farmers the ability to boost productivity while using fossil fuel-dependent industrial fertilizer, which has undergone dramatic price increases in recent years. Dr. John Peters, professor of chemistry and biochemistry and director of MSU's Astrobiology and Life and Extreme Environments Program, will join one of 4 projects looking to transform future farming. MSU Admissions Representatives travelling around the world. In September and October, MSU Representatives, Debra De Bode and Brent Leavell will be meeting prospective students in South America and Asia. Debra will be visiting Chile, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela and Brent will be travelling to India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. Check the schedule!
