The Office of International Programs (OIP) serves as the primary campus contact for international students and scholars. Our professional staff is eager to be of assistance, and we encourage use of this website for information on a wide variety of topics.
OIP assists prospective international students with the application process, visa guidance, housing and arrival information. Arrival services include free airport pick-up and a comprehensive orientation program for students. OIP provides visa application documents, pre-arrival information, and an individualized orientation for scholars to help assure a smooth adjustment to life at MSU.
On-going services for students and scholars include assistance with cultural adaptation, immigration regulations, employment and tax paperwork, as well as with any other questions or problems which may arise. The OIP staff serves as a liaison with sponsoring organizations, governmental offices, campus departments and the on-campus American Cultural Exchange Language Institute.
OIP programming for MSU’s international community includes:
-
Bozeman Friends of International Students (BFIS), which matches students with a friendship family in the Bozeman community
-
Global Culture Club (GCC), the club for foreign students and scholars on campus
-
Friends Beyond Borders, a program that pairs new international students with American student mentors
-
ESL and American Culture Class for spouses
-
sponsorship of many student cultural associations for students to enjoy friendships, food and culture from home
-
the annual International Education Week and International Street Food Bazaar
We hope to help you enjoy yourself and benefit from your experience in Montana. We welcome you to contact us at any time!
