The ASMSU Outdoor Recreation Program will offer an Avalanche Awareness and Rescue Workshop Wednesday, Nov. 16, from 7-9 p.m. in SUB 235.

Topics to be covered during the lecture include how terrain, weather and snowpack characteristics contribute to the creation of avalanches and how understanding these characteristics can help assess avalanche danger, and the principles of search and rescue and the use of avalanche rescue beacons.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is not required.
