Wonderust, a lifelong learning organization affiliated with MSU's Extended University, hosts a free lunchtime forum on Friday, Dec. 9 to discuss " Local Banks: Their Role in our Community."

Ron Farmer, president and CEO of First Security Bank, is the speaker. The forum begins at noon at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 2118 W. Third in Bozeman.

Farmer will discuss the role of local banks in our community. What part might they have played in feeding the real estate bubble? What is the current banking and lending environment? How do community banks benefit the local economy, and what impact might banking regulation have on the future of community banks?

With 39 years experience in banking, nine as CEO of First Security Bank, and as an active community member, Farmer will bring interesting insights to the many questions about today's banking industry.

Friday Forums are free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring a lunch while sponsors will provide coffee and cookies.
