Montana State University faculty, students and poets will participate in a poetry festival celebrating National Poetry Month 2012 to be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, in the Weaver Room of the Emerson Cultural Center.

The Wor(l)d Wide Poetry Festival will present an evening of poetry representing more than 15 languages and cultures from around the world.

MSU faculty, students and poets will read poems from France, Spain, China, Germany, Japan and many other places and expose participants to foreign words, sounds, rhythms and rhymes for a virtual sound track of global difference. Each foreign language poem will be followed by its English translation, unfolding a multilingual dialogue between world cultures, and challenging our notions of the familiar and the unknown.

The MSU Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the College of Letters and are sponsoring the program.
