The MSU Women's Center and Voice Center will host the Shannon Weatherly Lecture Series Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in the Procrastinator Theater. The Shannon Weatherly Lecture Series memorializes a young feminist and MSU alum who was tragically killed by a hunter as she lay sleeping in her tent in Gardiner, Mont. in 1982.

Dorothy Edwards, author of the Green Dot Violence Prevention Strategy, will be this year's speaker. She has worked in both counseling and teaching capacities in higher education addressing sexual assault and relationship violence.

The presentation will provide an overview of the Green Dot Community Mobilization Strategy and aims to inspire participants to see their role in prevention. Edwards will provide an overview of the role all community members have in promoting community safety.

A reception will follow the presentation in the SUB Leigh Lounge.
