BOZEMAN - Montana State University Extension will be hosting a free workshop explaining increasingly affordable solar hot water systems at the Montana Weatherization Training Center (705 Osterman Dr., Suite A, Bozeman) on Saturday, June 30, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The workshop, which is being offered in conjunction with the City of Bozeman, Northern Rocky Mountain Resource Conservation & Development Area, Inc., and the Human Resource Development Council, District IX, will cover what a solar hot water system would look like and cost for participants' homes.

Workshop organizers will highlight: What system options work well in Montana, how to size a system for your home, costs, current financial incentives, and what to ask an installer.

Participants should bring a water bill and a picture of their homes' south side.

Lunch is not included, but participants can bring their own or order on site for $10. There will be an optional tour after the workshop to show an installed residential system.

Pre-registration is required for the workshop.
