BOZEMAN - Nationally certified renewable energy installer and trainer Roy Butler will teach one-day renewable energy short courses on small wind turbine and solar photovoltaic technologies. With dates set for Bozeman, Great Falls and Helena, beginning Sept. 18 and ending Sept. 22, the full-day courses will offer training in renewable energy and will enhance teaching skills in these technologies.

The courses will describe equipment, installation, operation and maintenance, and state of the industry for small wind and solar photovoltaic.

Butler is an award-winning small wind and solar photovoltaic workforce-training provider for community colleges, technical schools, renewable energy associations and various organizations around the country. He brings more than 16 years of system integration and installation experience with grid-tied and off-grid wind and photovoltaic electric systems. His home and business have been off-grid, powered by wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) since 1997.

The courses will be offered as follows:
Tuesday, Sept. 18 - Bozeman: Fundamentals of Solar PV
Thursday, Sept. 20 - Helena: Fundamentals of Solar PV
Friday, Sept. 21 - Great Falls: Fundamentals of Small Wind
Saturday, Sept. 22 - Great Falls: Fundamentals of Solar PV

Free and open to the public, the trainings are sponsored by the Wind Montana Project, Montana State University Extension, Great Falls College MSU, and Northwestern Energy.
