Dr. Anthony A. Goodman, adjunct professor of medicine at MSU WWAMI Medical Sciences first year program at MSU, will read from his newly released novel, "None But The Brave: A Novel of the Surgeons of World War II" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Country Bookshelf.

The novel, Goodman's third book, is based on the true-life diaries of Goodman'’s mentor, Dr. Alfred Hurwitz, and tells the story of a group of surgeons, nurses, and medics on the front lines of D-Day invasion. Additionally, Goodman also was a war-time surgeon, serving as a surgeon with the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Vietnam War and on the hospital ship, Project HOPE.

Goodman's previous books are: "The Shadow of God: A Novel of War and Faith" and "Never Say Die: A Doctor and Patient Talk About Breast Cancer."
